A lot of people feel that they don’t need therapy or counselling as long as they are still managing on their own. In fact, it is often helpful to talk to someone when you are starting to stumble, rather than waiting until you have fallen. This is particularly true for couples.
This varies widely. Sometimes, a single session can give you the insight or direction you need to begin to make changes. More often, people come in for 4-8 sessions although some come more if they need to.
At the beginning, it is usually helpful to get some momentum going so once a week is best. However, after there are some skills that need to be practiced, or an improvement in symptoms, every 2 weeks is better. Some people will do a once a month or even once every few months check-in to stay on track.
The industry standard rate for psychologists is $200/one hour session.
Yes, services qualify under Insurance provided Extended Benefits. They are not covered by MSP.
Most plans will allow direct billing. Please check with Dr. Habke.
